Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is for people who want baseball without the stiff broadcast polish that often clings to licensed sports games. By our assessment, its real strength is the clean arcade-first handling: batting and pitching are readable, fielding is quick, and the cartoon players make the whole thing less fussy than a sim. The trade-off is that it does not try to mimic every wrinkle of real baseball, so purists will feel the simplification fast. In practice, that makes for short, punchy games where timing matters more than memorizing spreadsheets of stats. Against other baseball titles, it sits closer to the friendly end of the spectrum than the simulation end.
