Super Lesbian Animal RPG

Super Lesbian Animal RPG wears its joke on its sleeve, but in use it is a queer, turn-based role-playing game with a bright, playful surface and a real story underneath. By our assessment, that combination is its best feature: it is open about its tone, yet it still aims for the structure and pacing of a proper RPG. The obvious trade-off is that the title sets a very specific expectation, so anyone allergic to earnest humor or overtly cute presentation will know quickly that it is not for them. In practice it should feel like party-based combat, dialogue, and character growth wrapped in a deliberately cheerful style. It sits well apart from grim fantasy RPGs and more cynical indie games, because it chooses sincerity instead of edge. Super Lesbian Animal RPG looks silly first and then asks to be taken on its own terms.
