Summer of '58 leans on the haunted-house formula, with a first-person walk through a Soviet-era setting and the usual slow-burn horror setup. By our assessment, its strength is atmosphere: close rooms, found-object tension, and the kind of straightforward scare structure that asks you to keep moving forward. The ceiling is also familiar, because this is a compact horror game and not a deep systems piece or a long survival sandbox. In practice it feels like a brief, scripted ghost story where the environment does most of the work. Compared with larger horror titles, it sits closer to a small scare ride than a broad world to master. Summer of '58 is best for players who want a short, direct fright sequence and not much else.
