Submerged is a small exploration game about moving through a flooded city in a boat while climbing the broken buildings that stick out of the water. By our assessment, its appeal is the quiet pace and the atmosphere more than the challenge, with no combat to get in the way. The trade-off is that the traversal and puzzle work stay fairly light, so the whole thing can feel thin if someone wants systems or pressure. In practice it is a slow, watchful kind of game: paddle, look around, spot a route, climb, repeat. Compared with larger adventure games, it asks for less skill and less endurance, and it gives back mood and setting instead of depth. It suits players who want a short, calm journey, and it leaves little for anyone hoping for a richer loop.
