Strange Brigade

Strange Brigade is a co-op shooter built around exploring ruins, opening traps, and shooting through waves of enemies with a bit of pulp-adventure style. By our assessment, its hook is the mixture of archaeological tomb-raiding and light arcade gunplay, which gives it a cheerful, old serial feel rather than a grim military one. The limit is that the shooting and puzzle side both stay fairly simple, so it lives more on mood and teamwork than on deep systems. In practice it is the kind of game where the map, traps, and enemy swarms do a lot of the work, and the pace matters more than precision. It sits somewhere between a left-field action game and a straightforward co-op shooter, with a stronger personality than its mechanics. Strange Brigade works best as a casual group adventure and less well if someone wants demanding shooting or complex progression.
