Stranded: Alien Dawn

Stranded: Alien Dawn is a colony-sim about keeping a handful of survivors alive on an alien planet, with food, shelter, sickness, and shifting weather all competing for attention. By our assessment, its main strength is the familiar survival loop: gather, build, research, and patch up whatever breaks before the next crisis lands. The downside is that this genre can feel like a long checklist, especially once the early scramble gives way to routine management. In play, it is the sort of game where small layout mistakes and bad timing matter more than flashy moments. Compared with grander colony builders, it is narrower and more survival-first, which is fine if that is the appeal. The name tells you the tone straight away: marooned people, hostile world, and a lot of quiet work to keep both from winning.
