Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op horde shooter built around big firefights against swarms of bugs and a lot of squad movement across open maps. By our assessment, its main strength is the fantasy of holding a line with a group while the battlefield keeps filling up around you. The limit is that this kind of game lives or dies on repetition, and the loop is mostly shooting, building, moving and doing it again. In practice it can feel noisy and hectic rather than tactical, which is fine if the appeal is pure bug-blasting. Compared with more polished class shooters or tighter defense games, it leans harder on the license and the large-scale spectacle than on variety. It is for players who want cooperative chaos and do not mind a narrow loop that stays close to the premise.
