Starship Theory

Starship Theory asks for a taste for management loops, because most of the work is about keeping a ship alive, assigning tasks, and stretching scarce resources across repair, power, and survival. By our assessment, its strength is the premise itself: a small crew, a fragile hull, and the constant pressure of keeping systems from collapsing. The downside is that the game can feel spare and repetitive, since the appeal comes from watching numbers and rooms stay barely under control. In practice it has the rhythm of a survival management sim more than a dramatic space adventure, with much of the tension living in upkeep. It sits near other ship-management and colony-style games, but it keeps the scale tighter and the focus narrower. The ceiling is the same one most lean sims hit: once the maintenance loop feels solved, the mystery thins out.
