Squirrel with a Gun

Squirrel with a Gun is built on a stupidly simple joke: a squirrel, a gun, and the chaos that follows from letting a tiny animal handle problem-solving badly. By our assessment, that premise is the whole hook, and it does at least give the game a clear identity. The downside is that a one-joke setup can only stretch so far, so the appeal depends heavily on whether the movement, shooting, and physics keep surprising the player. In practice these games live or die on slapstick control and short bursts of ridiculous experimentation, not on depth. It sits closer to novelty action than to a serious shooter, which makes it easy to understand and also easy to outgrow. If the idea of woodland mayhem is enough, it lands; if not, there is not much else for it to hide behind.
