Space Prison

Space Prison asks for patience more than reflexes, because its hook is the prison-on-an-alien-planet setup and the management work that goes with it. By our assessment, that kind of game is most interesting when the player wants survival pressure, planning, and a bit of survival-craft structure rather than pure action. The downside is that colony and management systems can become fiddly, and the theme does a lot of the lifting if the underlying loop does not stay fresh. In play, this kind of title tends to be about juggling resources, risks, and small decisions instead of sprinting through fights. Against other prison or survival games, it sits somewhere between genre mash-up and tactical management, not as loose as an action game and not as broad as a full sim. Space Prison will appeal to people who like rules, restraint, and pressure, while anyone wanting a fast, carefree run will probably bounce off it.
