Soulstone Survivors

Soulstone Survivors turns the survivor-like formula into a fast power-fantasy loop: you move, auto-attack, pick upgrades and try to build a destructive run before the map fills with enemies. By our assessment, its best quality is how quickly it turns a simple build into a screen full of effects, cooldowns and overlapping damage. The downside is that the genre's repetition is always there, and once a few strong builds are known, the surprise drops off. In practice it is a game of movement, target choice and constant upgrade decisions, with very little downtime between spikes of power. It sits near the more action-heavy end of survivors games, alongside titles that favour speed and spectacle over careful positioning. Soulstone Survivors is the one to reach for if the pleasure is in escalating chaos and tidy runs that can get absurdly busy by the end.
