Soul Axiom

Soul Axiom is the kind of first-person puzzle game that cares more about strange spaces and shifting logic than about action. By our assessment, its appeal comes from wandering through surreal environments, using the game’s ideas about identity and memory as the frame for the puzzles. The limit is that this style can feel cold or repetitive if someone wants a stronger mechanical hook or faster movement. In practice it is a game of looking, turning, and trying to make sense of rooms that do not behave like normal places, which gives it a dreamlike pace. It sits somewhere between narrative puzzler and exploratory sci-fi oddity, and it works best when the player is willing to follow the mood rather than chase variety.
