Soccer Manager 2022

Soccer Manager 2022 is a football management game for people who like lineups, transfers, tactics, and the long stretch of decisions between matches. By our assessment, its best quality is the familiar manager loop: signing players, setting roles, tweaking formations, and watching results play out from the dugout rather than from the pitch. The downside is that this kind of game can feel more like spreadsheet football than drama, especially if someone wants to control the action directly instead of shape it from above. In practice it is about menus, squad planning, and nudging a season forward one fixture at a time, with patience doing most of the work. It sits squarely in the management-sim camp alongside the better-known football managers, and the 2022 name marks it as a yearly-style entry in that space. For people who enjoy planning more than dribbling, it has the right shape; for anyone wanting hands-on play, it will feel remote.
