Slingshot people

Slingshot people sounds whimsical, but the actual idea is simple: it is a game about launching people with a slingshot and dealing with the awkward timing that comes with that kind of stunt. By our assessment, the appeal is the basic slapstick of trajectory and impact, where the joke is in getting the angle wrong and watching the result play out. The limit is obvious too: once the physics gag is understood, the same joke has to keep finding new variations or it starts to flatten out. In practice these games live or die on the feel of the launch, the sense of momentum, and whether each attempt is quick enough to invite another one. It sits somewhere between toy-like physics games and short arcade puzzles, which means it relies more on immediate feedback than on long-term depth. People looking for a light, fiddly diversion may enjoy it; people wanting a deep system will probably not. The name is almost the whole promise, and the game has to make that one trick stay entertaining.
