Slime & Friends

Slime & Friends looks aimed at a younger, casual audience, with a friendly cast and a light, toy-like tone rather than anything demanding. By our assessment, that is also its main strength: it can present a gentle, approachable game without much friction. The trade-off is that this sort of game usually lives and dies on simple systems, so the ceiling is not high unless the content variety is there. In practice it is the sort of title that should feel easy to pick up and easy to leave, with charm carrying more weight than challenge. It sits closer to low-stakes family-friendly fare than to something that asks for mastery or long sessions. Slime & Friends sounds like a small, cheerful package, and it seems to be judged on that scale.
