Skyborn

Skyborn is the sort of indie RPG people reach for when they want turn-based combat, party management, and a world built around airships and fantasy machinery. By our assessment, its appeal sits in the familiar comfort of the genre: a clear party setup, equipment choices, and the slow build of a story-driven role-playing game. What keeps it from standing out more is that it lives close to the old JRPG template, so its ideas feel steady rather than fresh. In practice that means menus, stat management, and a lot of back-and-forth through towns and maps. Compared with bigger-budget RPGs, Skyborn is smaller in scale and narrower in ambition, but also less demanding on time and attention. The right audience is someone who wants a straightforward indie role-playing game with classic pacing, not anyone looking for a radical systems game.
