Size Matters

Size Matters turns the whole idea of a puzzle game into a shrinking-and-growing trick, and that single rule gives it most of its charm. By our assessment, the best part is how every room becomes a small spatial problem, because changing size affects where you fit, what you can reach, and how you move through the level. That also creates the main limitation: once the joke of scale is understood, the game has to keep finding new ways to use it or the puzzles start to feel samey. In play it is the sort of game where you stop thinking about abstract rules and start thinking about doors, ledges, gaps, and when being tiny or large matters. Compared with ordinary puzzle games, it feels more physical and more playful without needing much explanation. It is a good match for players who like clever mechanics over story, and less so for anyone who wants long dialogue or spectacle.
