SimRail - The Railway Simulator

SimRail - The Railway Simulator is for players who want the railway, not just the train. By our assessment, it sits in the serious simulator end of the genre, with driving, signalling, and the wider job of running services across a rail network rather than simply steering a locomotive for a few scenic laps. Its strength is that it treats the work as work: schedules, routes, controls, and the discipline of keeping everything lined up. That also means the ceiling is high in patience and learning, because this is not a light arcade game you can half-watch on the side. In practice, these simulators reward steady attention and a taste for procedure more than reflexes. Compared with casual train games, SimRail - The Railway Simulator is much more demanding and much more specific about what it wants from the player. It is best for anyone who already likes transport sim detail; everyone else may find the pace too deliberate.
