Shop Heroes

Shop Heroes lives on the loop of crafting gear, staffing a shop, and sending adventurers out to feed the machine. By our assessment, it is for players who like idle-management systems and the low-key satisfaction of watching a fantasy economy tick along. Its appeal is the overlap between shopkeeping and RPG progression, so the numbers keep moving even when the moment-to-moment play is light. The drawback is that the loop can feel repetitive once the novelty of the workshop wears off. In practice it has the tidy, incremental rhythm of a mobile management game, with lots of timers and short check-ins. Compared with deeper simulation games, it is much less about hard choices and much more about steady accumulation. Shop Heroes is the kind of game you leave running and revisit for a few small upgrades, not one that asks for sustained attention.
