Shelter

Shelter is a small survival game built around a parent animal trying to keep its young alive through weather, hunger, and predators. By our assessment, its strength is the plainness of that idea: every trip for food, every wrong move, and every lost cub lands with immediate weight. The downside is that it is deliberately brief and limited, so once the first pass of its routine is clear, there is not much complexity left to unfold. In practice it asks for careful routing and a quiet tolerance for repetition, with more attention on avoiding mistakes than on building power. Compared with larger survival games, Shelter is stripped down and more intimate, and compared with management-heavy titles it stays focused on one narrow emotional loop. It suits players who want a compact survival piece with a clear premise, and it will feel thin to anyone looking for systems to tinker with.
