Shardbound

Shardbound is the sort of game that usually aims to blend tactics with collectible-card structure, so the draw is in planning turns rather than in fast reflexes. By our assessment, that mix can be satisfying when the board state matters and every card choice changes the shape of the fight. The limit is that hybrid strategy games often ask for patience with deck building and with learning a fairly specific ruleset. In play, that means more reading, more sequencing, and less immediate action than a typical battler. It sits somewhere between a tactics game and a card game, which gives it identity but also narrows the audience. Shardbound sounds like something for players who enjoy solving a match piece by piece rather than rushing through one.
