Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition is for players who want party-based cyberpunk RPGs with turn-based combat, dialogue checks, and a lot of reading between fights. By our assessment, its best feature is the setting mix: neon city, corporate pressure, magic, and street-level trouble all sit together without pretending to be clean or simple. The trade-off is that this kind of RPG asks for patience, because the pace is slow between combat scenes and the story leans heavily on text. In practice it feels deliberate rather than flashy, with grid fights that reward positioning and conversations that matter as much as gear. Compared with lighter tactics games, it offers more world-building and more narrative weight, but also more time spent moving through menus and dialogue. It is not a quick route into the genre; it is a dense one, and the Extended Edition name signals the fuller, more complete version people usually mean when they talk about it.
