Session: Skate Sim asks for patience because it treats skateboarding as something to learn through weight, balance, and repeated falls. By our assessment, its best feature is the focus on analogue-style control and board feel, which makes landing tricks satisfying when the timing finally clicks. The downside is obvious: it can be stubborn and demanding, and the learning curve is much steeper than in arcade skate games. In practice that means a lot of small adjustments, bails, and trying the same line again until your hands and timing settle into it. Session: Skate Sim sits closer to technical skate sims than to the looser, more forgiving style people know from arcade skating, and that difference is the whole point. It is for players who want to work at skating rather than glide through it, and the ceiling is still the usual one for a sim: the sport remains hard even when the controls are honest.
