Second Extinction is a co-op shooter built around blasting large waves of dinosaurs, so the appeal is immediate and blunt rather than subtle. By our assessment, that directness is the game’s main strength: it gives players a clear target, fast movement, and a simple reason to keep shooting. The limitation is equally plain, because once the dinosaur-hunting novelty is gone, the loop depends on how much repeated mission play someone can tolerate. In practice it is noisy, direct, and easy to understand within minutes. It sits among arcade-style cooperative shooters more than among story-driven action games. Second Extinction is best for people who want quick team fights and do not need much else.
