Scrapnaut: Prologue looks like a survival-crafting teaser, and that is exactly the kind of thing that usually lives or dies on how well it explains its systems. By our assessment, its main draw is the promise of scavenging, building, and managing resources in a compact slice of the Scrapnaut world. The trade-off is baked in by the word Prologue: it is a fragment, so the sense of progress and long-term payoff is necessarily limited. In play, that usually means a lot of gathering, crafting, and checking whether the basic loop is interesting enough to carry a larger game later. It sits closer to a demo-sized sample than to a full survival box, which makes it hard to judge it by the standards of a complete release.
