Scrap Garden

Scrap Garden is the kind of platform-adventure that leans on mood, a small robot lead, and a rusty post-apocalyptic world rather than on mechanical ambition. By our assessment, its charm comes from that compact storybook setup and the easy readability of a robot wandering through a broken place. The downside is that this kind of game often lives or dies on its movement feel and level design, and from the name alone there is no sign of a standout system that would separate it from the pile of similar indie adventures. In practice it sounds like something paced for wandering and light puzzles more than for challenge or depth. Compared with bigger action-platformers, it likely aims for atmosphere and modest scale instead of spectacle. Scrap Garden is the sort of title that may please people who want a gentle, readable adventure with a strong visual premise, while players looking for demanding platforming or heavy systems will probably want more than it appears to offer.
