Save Jesus

Save Jesus is built around a simple, openly comic premise, and that makes it read more like a novelty game than a deep one. By our assessment, its appeal is the bluntness of the idea and the way a small, odd hook can carry a whole game for a while. The limit is obvious too: if the joke or premise does not land, there is not much else underneath to save it. In play, this sort of title usually depends on repetition, light puzzles or action, and a willingness to accept that the whole point is the gag. Compared with fuller indie games, it has less room to grow but also less ambition to hide behind. Save Jesus is for people who want a short, strange diversion, and it should not be mistaken for something with much mechanical depth.
