Salt and Sacrifice

Salt and Sacrifice is built for players who want side-scrolling combat with heavy timing, hunting bosses, and the familiar pressure of a soulslike structure. By our assessment, its best trick is the way it mixes deliberate weapon swings with a chase for marked targets, so the pace keeps changing instead of settling into one rhythm. That also creates the main trade-off: the game asks for patience, because misses hurt and progress is tied to repeating difficult encounters. In play, it feels tense and methodical, with little room for mindless button-mashing. It sits to one side of Salt and Sanctuary, less a simple sequel than a different spin on the same harsh combat language. People who like reading enemy patterns and taking punishment as part of the loop will get more from it than players who want a relaxed action platformer. Salt and Sacrifice is happiest when the player accepts that every move has weight.
