Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is pure open-world nonsense aimed at players who want superpowers, absurd missions, and a city used as a playground rather than a simulation. By our assessment, its best trick is how freely it throws movement powers, weapons, and alien-comedy energy together, so roaming around the map can feel looser and funnier than in most crime sandboxes. The cost is that the series has long since stopped pretending to be grounded, so anyone hoping for a serious gangster story will bounce off fast. In play it is loud, elastic, and deliberately ridiculous, with combat and traversal fused into one fast loop. Compared with earlier Saints Row games and the more serious open-world crime names, it leans much harder into parody and spectacle. It rewards players who want to break the city rather than live in it, and it does not try to be subtle.
