STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN is built for people who want Final Fantasy monsters, classes, and loot wrapped around very direct action combat. By our assessment, its best feature is the blunt, aggressive fighting style: you are not steering a delicate spectacle, you are pushing through encounters with parries, breaks, and job swapping. The downside is that this rougher approach can feel uneven, especially when the presentation and the story mood lean harder than the systems do. In practice it is a game of pushing forward, looting, and changing roles on the fly, with a lot less elegance than the mainline series usually carries. It sits apart from the more polished Final Fantasy entries and closer to a loud action RPG built from familiar series parts. People who want flashy direct combat and a stranger, harder-edged spin on the brand may stick with it; anyone looking for classic Final Fantasy poise will not.
