STRAFE: Gold Edition

STRAFE: Gold Edition goes after speed, recoil, and messy firefights, so it is for players who want a loud first-person shooter with movement and aggression at the centre. By our assessment, its sharpest idea is that old-school shooter feel is pushed hard: fast strafing, quick deaths, gore, and a constant urge to keep moving. The trade-off is that this kind of game does not care much about subtlety or long-range variety; it wants reflexes, route learning, and comfort with chaos. In practice it feels like a direct sprint through rooms full of enemies, where stopping too long is usually the wrong move. Compared with modern tactical shooters, it sits on the arcade side of the fence and makes no apology for that. STRAFE: Gold Edition is a good pick for anyone who wants a harsh, fast run-and-gun session, and it leaves little room for players who prefer methodical pacing.
