SMITE 2 keeps the basic idea of arena combat built around gods, but pushes it into a newer, cleaner layer of third-person action. By our assessment, the strongest promise is still the same one the first game had: readable team fights where positioning and timing matter more than raw spectacle. The catch is that a sequel like this has to live up to a game with a very established player base, so every rough edge gets noticed fast. In practice it is lanes, abilities, crowd control, and the constant job of watching where the fight is about to break open. Compared with other mobas, it sits closer to action combat you can feel directly through the camera, not just through menus and pings. The whole thing depends on balance and polish, and those are the parts that decide whether the new version feels like a step forward or just another queue.
