SILT

SILT asks for patience more than speed, because its whole effect comes from drifting through a stark underwater world and handling its pressure-puzzle movement. By our assessment, it is a good fit for players who want atmosphere first and do not mind a short, deliberate platformer built around contrast and texture. The black-and-white look gives it a strong identity, and the shifting shapes in the water are the part that sticks in memory. Its limit is also easy to name: outside the visual idea, the gameplay is fairly spare, so the experience depends on whether that mood lands for you. In practice it feels eerie, slow and precise, with the kind of control that asks you to move carefully and watch the silhouette of each obstacle. It sits closer to artful puzzle-platformers than to action games, and it does not try to be much else. The game’s appeal is in that narrow lane, and it stays there without fuss.
