SD GUNDAM G GENERATION CROSS RAYS is for people who want a strategy game built out of Gundam units, roster management, and grid-based fights rather than an action brawler. By our assessment, its real draw is the sheer amount of mecha material it collects into one tactical package, which is exactly what series fans usually want from this kind of crossover. The downside is that it is very much a catalog game: the pleasure comes from menus, unit unlocking, and numbers moving around, so the pace can feel dry if the setting itself does not carry you. In practice it asks for patience and comfort with systems, not quick reflexes. Compared with flashier robot games, it is more archive and tactics screen than spectacle. SD GUNDAM G GENERATION CROSS RAYS is the sort of game to reach for when the roster matters as much as the battles.
