SCP: Labrat is a fan-made first-person horror game built around the SCP Foundation’s containment lore, so its audience already knows the flavour it is going for. By our assessment, its best asset is atmosphere: grim corridors, lab spaces, and the constant sense that something has gone wrong in the facility. The downside is that an SCP game lives or dies on how much the premise and rough edges hold together, and that kind of project often asks for some tolerance of jank and indie limitations. In practice it is less about polished scares than about moving through a hostile research site and piecing together what the place is. Compared with bigger horror releases, it is more niche and more dependent on the SCP setting than on broad horror design. SCP: Labrat is for players who already like SCP stories and first-person indie horror; for everyone else, the premise may do most of the work.
