Running Through Russia

Running Through Russia asks for patience more than speed, because the appeal of a travel game like this is usually in the landscapes, the route, and the feeling of crossing a huge place piece by piece. By our assessment, that kind of premise can be pleasant when the geography and movement carry the whole thing, but it also leaves little room if the moment-to-moment play is thin. In practice, a game with this title sounds like something built around traversal and local flavour rather than heavy systems, so its ceiling depends on how much variety the road offers. It sits closer to small exploratory games than to action or simulation, and that narrowness is both its identity and its limit. Running Through Russia is for players who want a journey first; anyone looking for deep mechanics will probably find the road itself more interesting than what happens on it.
