Rez Infinite

Rez Infinite turns rhythm, rail-shooting, and pure audiovisual sync into its main hook, and that is still the reason people remember it. By our assessment, the strongest thing about Rez Infinite is how tightly it ties shooting, music, and feedback together so that every lock-on and explosion feels part of the soundtrack. The trade-off is obvious: this is not a long-form story game, and its appeal depends on matching its trance-like style. In practice it asks for attention to timing and for some patience with repetition, because the structure is built around replay and score-chasing rather than surprises. Compared with ordinary shooters, it is more abstract and far more musical; compared with most music games, it gives you the feeling of aiming and moving through space. Rez Infinite is a good pick for players who want a short, focused sensory experience, while people looking for plot, loot, or tactical variety will find the ceiling pretty quickly.
