Retail Royale

Retail Royale takes the basic battle-royale idea and drops it into a store floor, which makes the whole thing feel immediately familiar and a little silly. By our assessment, the main draw is the setting: running, grabbing items, and competing in a retail space gives the genre a comic twist without needing a complicated rule set. The downside is that it lives or dies on that joke, so once the novelty fades there is not much depth to rescue it. In practice it sounds like a quick, chaotic multiplayer game rather than a long-term obsession. Compared with bigger battle royales, it is more of a novelty spin than a heavyweight entrant, and that is exactly where it sits.
