Railway Empire 2

Railway Empire 2 is for players who enjoy laying track, balancing routes, and watching a rail network grow into a working map. By our assessment, it is strongest when it gives you the slow satisfaction of connecting industries and keeping trains moving without your timetable falling apart. The trade-off is the usual one for this sort of management game: it asks for attention to detail and can become fussy once the network gets crowded. In practice you spend a lot of time zooming around stations, adjusting connections, and checking whether one bottleneck has started to choke the rest. Compared with simpler transport games, it aims for a fuller railway sandbox and a more elaborate economy. The title’s built-in 2 is just part of the name, and Railway Empire 2 is most comfortable when you like tinkering rather than rushing.
