Rail Route

Rail Route is a management game about drawing rail lines, setting timetables, and keeping trains moving without tangles. By our assessment, its real appeal is the quiet pressure of watching a network grow from a few simple connections into something that needs constant planning. The upside is that the whole game stays readable: signals, stations, and routes all have a clear purpose, and success comes from arranging them well. The downside is that it can become fiddly once the map grows and small timing mistakes start to ripple outward. In practice it asks for attention, planning, and a calm tolerance for watching systems click into place. Compared with louder transport games, it is more about neat control than spectacle. It suits players who enjoy logistics and route puzzles, and it will feel thin to anyone who wants action instead of schedules. The trains only behave when the layout is thought through, and that is the point.
