RPG Tycoon

RPG Tycoon is for people who want to tinker with the business side of a role-playing game instead of just running a hero through quests. By our assessment, its appeal is in the management loop: laying out rooms, balancing budgets, and trying to keep adventurers and staff moving without the whole place turning into a mess. The trade-off is that this sort of tycoon game can feel spreadsheet-heavy if the building and simulation do not give enough surprises. In practice it is the sort of game where the pleasure comes from small adjustments and watching systems react, not from spectacle. Compared with bigger management games, it sounds narrower and more homemade, which can be a strength if you want a focused concept. The limit is probably in its scope, because the idea lives or dies on how much variety the dungeon economy can sustain. It suits players who enjoy management first and fantasy second.
