Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 lives on the clash between two very different puzzle games, and that mix is the whole point. By our assessment, it works because it lets Tetris players and Puyo players meet on common ground, then pushes both sides to think faster under pressure. The trade-off is that it is not a deep reinvention of either series; it is a polished crossover with a lot of modes, not a radical new puzzle language. In use it has the busy, competitive feel of a game that can switch from careful stacking to frantic chain-making in a second, which keeps it lively even when you already know the rules. It stands well above a generic puzzle compilation because the pairing has real identity, and the literal 2 in the title is part of the official name. The ceiling is set by how much you enjoy competitive puzzle pressure and the old Tetris-versus-Puyo tension.
