Ports of Call Classic is a port-management and shipping sim for people who like moving cargo, balancing routes, and making a fleet pay for itself on paper before it does so at sea. By our assessment, its appeal is the old-school economy puzzle: buy ships, pick jobs, watch fuel and timing, and try not to get caught by bad arithmetic. The limit is that this style can feel dry and mechanical, because the fun comes from numbers and planning more than from action. In practice it is a game of menus, routes, and careful decisions, which is satisfying if that is the point and tiring if it is not. Compared with modern management games, it is very much of the older school. The name really says the shape of it: shipping first, drama later.
