Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition is for people who want a dialogue-heavy role-playing game more than a combat treadmill. By our assessment, its real strength is the writing: long conversations, odd philosophies, and a setting that still feels unlike ordinary fantasy. The trade-off is plain enough, because the pace is slow and a lot of the pleasure comes from reading, choosing lines, and living with consequences instead of rushing forward. In practice it feels like a game that asks for patience and rewards attention to text, not quick reflexes. Against modern RPGs it stands as a classic of story-first design rather than a slick power fantasy. The Enhanced Edition label signals a cleaned-up way to play an older game, not a remake with a new shape, so the appeal is mostly for people who already like dense, talkative RPGs.
