Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap

Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap puts the trap-laying side of the series front and center, so the real pleasure is in setting lanes, then watching enemies walk straight into trouble. By our assessment, it is best for players who like action mixed with planning, where quick movement matters but the trap grid matters more. Its strength is the series’ usual loop of placing defenses, timing attacks, and adjusting a room when the horde changes direction. The limit is that it is still built around repeating waves, so the surprise comes from layout and timing rather than from deep narrative or wide exploration. In play it feels busy in a good way: you are always moving, spending, rethinking, and trying to squeeze more value out of a narrow space. Compared with pure action games, it asks for more setup; compared with heavy strategy games, it stays much more immediate. The name promises chaos, and the game is at its best when that chaos is being managed rather than admired.
