Operation: Harsh Doorstop

Operation: Harsh Doorstop is a free-to-play military shooter that leans hard on community-made content, large battles, and mod-friendly sandbox play. Its strongest point is openness: it aims to be a place where players and modders can build scenarios rather than a tightly scripted single-player campaign. By our assessment, that makes it interesting as a platform, but also uneven as a finished package, because the quality depends a lot on what the community has made around it. The trade-off is a familiar one for this kind of project: broad ambition, rough edges, and a feel that can be more experimental than polished. In practice it is the sort of shooter where you spend time in servers, custom maps, and modes that may feel very different from one another. It sits closer to insurgency-style or mil-sim-adjacent community shooters than to glossy blockbuster FPS games. Anyone wanting a curated campaign or a highly polished competitive ladder will miss the point, while people who like tinkering, mods, and community chaos will recognize the appeal. The name promises hard military action, and the game mostly follows through on scale and openness.
