Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny leans on swordplay first, with demon-fighting, quick responses, and the familiar rhythm of a character action game. By our assessment, what keeps it appealing is the way it blends samurai fantasy with arcade-style combat and a steady trickle of upgrades and puzzles. The downside is also typical of the era: fixed camera angles, a more rigid structure, and systems that can feel old-fashioned next to later action games.
