Oil Rush

Oil Rush asks for attention to lanes, supply lines, and control points, so it suits players who like strategy games that look clean but still punish sloppy positioning. By our assessment, its best trait is the naval angle: fighting over oil platforms and moving across water gives the map a different rhythm from the usual land-bound base builder. The downside is that this kind of strategy can be fussy, because losing track of economy or routes quickly matters more than flashy action. In play it is a matter of reading the map, placing units carefully, and keeping pressure on the right spots. It sits closer to real-time strategy than to a casual combat game, with a stronger focus on movement and territory than on spectacle. Oil Rush does not try to be broad; it is about control, routes, and the slow squeeze of the map.
