Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD has the kind of odd mix that makes the series memorable: a third-person action game built around the oddball dart-crossbow and a very direct hunt-and-capture loop. By our assessment, it works best for people who like shooters that keep changing the tools in your hands, because ammo is often the point rather than a side detail. The strength is the design of each bolt type and the way encounters ask for quick judgment instead of spraying bullets. The limit is that the whole thing leans hard on its own old, chunky style, so anyone wanting a modern, smooth cover shooter may bounce off it. In play it feels part western chase, part puzzle about what to load next, and the HD treatment mainly keeps that structure alive rather than reinventing it. It sits apart from standard action games and from pure stealth alike. The name Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD fits that strange, practical tone, with the hunt doing most of the work.
