Oddmar

Platforming, combat, and short environmental puzzles give Oddmar more to do than simply run and jump through a level. By our assessment, its hand-drawn animation is a real strength, making the Viking setting and character movement easy to follow while keeping the action approachable. The side-scrolling format is familiar, so players can focus on timing jumps, dealing with enemies, and reading the obstacles ahead. That straightforward structure also means it is not aiming for the open-ended exploration or complex combat of a larger action adventure. Oddmar works best as a carefully presented, level-by-level platform game, with its animation carrying much of the charm.
